Community Gardening @ Longacre
Today we will continue to scythe to give the meadow its main cut. This is to reduce fertility of the meadow and spread wildflower seeds around: we roll last week’s dry grass around to disperse seed before using it to mulch the trees, then scythe some more leaving it in rows to dry out and reduce in volume. Everyone is welcome whether you’ve scythed before or if you’re totally new to it: full instructions will be given and tools provided.
Do wear suitable shoes. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No need to book unless you have any special requirements or are part of a large group, in which case please email community.ttw@gmail.com at least 24 hours before the session. Please try to walk or cycle, and if you have to drive, please park a bit further away to avoid complaints from nearby residents.
