Let’s celebrate the top 5 highlights of 2025.

Thanks to all the volunteers who made 2025 a fantastic year! Let’s hope that Wellington will continue to become more biodiverse and more sustainable in regards to our impact on the planet in 2026.

A new Tree Walk Map has been produced. This highlights some of the important mature trees in our town, nominated by local people.

The Bioblitz on Fox’s Field on the 28th June. With the help of many local wildlife experts we recorded an amazing 271 different species!

Celebrating Wellington’s Waterways with a week long exhibition at the pop-up shop between 14th and 19th July. This culminated in the sell-out film “I am the River, The River is Me” at the Arts Centre on the 19th July.

A record 1100 bottles of apple juice produced from apples that would otherwise have been wasted. This is currently on sale at Ruxstons to raise money for the group’s projects.

Winning a most prestigious award: the 2025 RHS Community Award for Sustainable Gardening, as well as The London and Manchester Trophy, The CPRE Environmental Awards Third Place for Best Environmental Project, and an RHS Level 5 Outstanding for Fox’s Field and Advancing for Longacre, which helped Wellington receive a Gold award overall from Britain in Bloom.
