The Grand opening of Maidenbrook Country Park will take place on Somerset Day, Saturday 9 May between 14:00 and 22:00. This is an extensive green parkland for community enjoyment. It includes a forest school and a wildlife pond. It is also home to the Somerset Wood, which contains memorials to Somerset veterans and service personnel across various conflicts. The park is part of the PCNR network and another piece in the jigsaw of open spaces for nature.

This special event will be marked with a daytime dog show (starting at 14:30), live music, food and hog roast, bar and more. In the evening the event will conclude with the lighting of the beacon and fireworks at 21:45. You can book free tickets at Get Edge and that will enter you into the prize draw.
