Hedge Planting at Hilly Head
The recent hedge planting at the Community Farm at Hilly Head was a great success. There was a good turnout of volunteers for this major planting exercise. Afterwards Wellington Community Food said “What a team effort – over 150m of hedge was planted along the ridge to increase habitat for wildlife and improve aesthetics of the field boundary.
“Thanks to a team of volunteers, Transition Town Wellington and almost 40 Year 6 pupils from Beech Grove Primary School we completed a significant amount of planting in a relatively short time.
“It was great to see everyone from different parts of the community working together, having fun and the weather didn’t put anyone off!”
