Gardening – Pruning

March 9 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Tree Pruning @ Trinity Orchard

Learn how to prune apple and pear trees with Simon Ratsey. He has had 50 years experience in tree pruning and has be caring for the trees at Trinity Orchard since they were planted in 2013. The aim is to give everyone the confidence in how to judge if and when pruning is needed, and do it with care to improve the shape and health of each tree. An ideal day to prune fruit trees on the biodynamic calendar. Everyone is welcome to help, no need to book and no prior experience needed. Do wear suitable shoes and wear gardening gloves. Please try to walk or cycle, and if you have to drive, please park a bit further away to avoid complaints from nearby residents.

This semi wild orchard is located on Mantle Street right next to Wellington Medical Centre TA21 8BD. Stand at the entrance to the doctors surgery car park on the pavement, then walk a few meters away from the town centre. There is a grey stone wall with an iron gate on your left, which is the entrance to this little wild orchard, accessed up the steps. The gate is locked at night by a neighbour. This is site 3 on the foraging map
