Gardening – Tree planting

February 29 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Community Gardening @ Fox’s Field

In this session we will be planting the remainder of the perennial trees and shrubs for this winter season in the forest garden, as it’s a good week to plant perennials according to the biodynamic calendar. We will spread out across the site to plant them, plus we can ensure all the other trees have sufficient mulch around them, using card and 2 year rotted hay. Everyone is welcome to help, no need to book and no prior experience needed. Do wear suitable shoes and wear gardening gloves.

Locals will access the field via the basins, but as the footpath is currently closed due to health and safety reasons, we cannot officially direct you from this side. You can also enter the field from Millstream Gardens side, however please walk or cycle as there is no parking. You can park in the car park behind “one stop”. If you use What3words, the entrance to Fox’s Field on the Tonedale side is phones.card.corrupted. The nearest postcode to the Tonedale entrance side is TA21 0DH. There is a children’s play park across the river from Millstream gardens at the top of the field, and you can also access via the field gate on Linden Hill, although there is also no parking here. Gardening sessions usually meet at the metal storage container near the field gate. This is site 5 on the foraging map.
