Community Gardening @ Burrough Way
In this afternoon session you are welcome to pop in for an hour after work but do make sure you check on the website calendar first incase of any changes. This will be our last evening session until late March 2027 because the nights are drawing in. We will be “preening” Burrough Way this year rather than scything it all. Aiming to cut a path around the hedge and to the fruit and herb beds, then just cutting out any unwanted brambles or docks with secateurs. This leaves as much habitat as possible for overwintering insects as the grass is so weak here and the wildflowers so strong, with some developing yellow meadow ant hills, we can treat it like a flower border. Everyone is welcome to help, no prior experience needed.
Do wear suitable shoes. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No need to book unless you have any special requirements or are part of a large group, in which case please email community.ttw@gmail.com at least 24 hours before the session. Please try to walk or cycle, and if you have to drive, please park a bit further away to avoid complaints from nearby residents.
