Scything @ Corams Lane
Today we will be cutting the grass and wildflowers at Corams Lane. This has had a lot of wild carrot this year, so cutting late will give the birds chance to eat some of the seed, and for some to fall and replenish the area for next year to have even more. We will scarify and sow more wildflower seed if there are enough volunteers, to increase variety next summer. Everyone is welcome whether you’ve scythed before or if you’re totally new to it: full instructions will be given and tools provided. A full body workout, perhaps this morning is a good chance to forgo the gym round the corner at the sports centre and try a green gym instead!
Do wear suitable shoes. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No need to book unless you have any special requirements or are part of a large group, in which case please email community.ttw@gmail.com at least 24 hours before the session. Please try to walk or cycle, and if you have to drive, please park a bit further away to avoid complaints from nearby residents.
