3300 new trees planted

Ambitious plans to plant trees in Wellington’s Green Corridor have now been completed. This has resulted in 3300 new trees being planted by the people of Rockwell Green and Wellington. The Green Corridor covers an area of some 64-acres (almost 26 hectares). The project, developed by Wellington Town Council and the Woodland Trust, commenced in December 2024. Eight planting days were arranged and the last scheduled tree planting session took place on Saturday 22 March. The planting was part of the Woodland Trust’s Woodland Creation Scheme, MoreWoods. Members of Transition Town wellington were amongst those helping with the planting.
